

Originally from Australia, Ling Ling received her Bachelors of Music Degree with Honors at the University of Melbourne Conservatorium of Music and her Masters of Music Degree Magna Cum Laude at the Manhattan School of Music.

During the 4-year undergraduate program, she received professional piano performance training from Dr. Our NYC piano instructor Sherry graduated from Washburn University, Kansas with a bachelor’s degree in Music Performance with honors. Mayuko continues to perform both as a soloist & chamber musician not only in New York City but also in her native country of Japan. Mayuko was one of only 40 people selected to participate in the 20 Orléans Concours International Piano Competition in France. Mayuko is the founder of multiple music studios including Piano Lessons NYC & currently teaches piano to over 50 students privately along with being a ballet accompanist. She has performed extensively not only in her native country of Japan, but also in the USA, UK, Spain, Finland & Australia. She has appeared in numerous contemporary related projects including the BBC Proms where her performance was broadcast on BBC Radio 3. With over fourteen years teaching experience Mayuko’s students have gone on to win several piano competitions & receive great results in both the ABRSM & NYSSMA exams. In 2015 she completed an Advanced Certificate in Music Education from New York University (Steinhardt) under the direction of Marilyn Nonken. Japanese pianist Mayuko holds a Master of Performance (MPerf) from the Royal College of Music, London where she was awarded the John & Jean Redcliffe Maud Prize.

Julia holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance from New York University and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Florida State University. In this way, her students can be independent in the time between lessons, and they gain the capability of learning pieces on their own without risk of injury. Whether a student is learning classical music or improvising over chord charts, Julia stresses the importance of technique, attention to detail, and practice methods.

To do this, she prioritizes maintaining a positive and energetic environment during piano lessons, and she creates an individualized curriculum for each student. Additionally, Julia is passionate about pedagogical research in the field of adult beginners, and has been selected to present at multiple conferences, including the Florida State Music Teachers Association State Conference. When teaching, Julia’s largest and most immediate goal is to create a healthy growing space. Julia previously served as Piano Instructor in Piano Studies at New York University, teaching undergraduate private piano lessons in addition to group piano courses. Julia is a New York City based piano pedagogue, performer and piano instructor.
